If you are a Lubbock native or a Texas Tech University student you know the Tech Terrace neighborhood.   While homes here are always in demand, here are some pros and cons of this popular central Lubbock community .

Pros

Near Texas Tech so super easy to bike or walk to campus.  Save money on parking fees!

City Bus trolleys make the rounds here so you can always catch the bus.

Two city parks featuring a walking/jogging trail, playgrounds and schools for the kids.

Shopping!  Tech Terrace is unique in that it has its own grocery store, cafes and boutique shops.

J&B Coffee.  This popular coffee shop is located at 26th and Boston is a cozy spot to meet, study, unwind.

Diverse population -students, families, professionals.

Tree-lined streets and mature landscaping

A great variety of homes including cottages, bungalows, and mid-century modern to name a few.

Cons

There are many rental houses in Tech Terrace and some could be maintained better.

Many cars parked on the street since not all homes have sufficient off-street parking.

Systems (electricity and plumbing) may need to be replaced since homes here are typically older.

A large student population which could lead to noise & parking issues.
